Kari has worked in the field of disability services for over 25 years. While earning her degree at the University of Iowa she worked as a Direct Support Professional. After earning her BA in Education, Kari decided her heart was in this field and never went on to pursue a teaching position. She held various supervisory roles before exploring leadership opportunities and landing in a business class that sparked, first an interest and then a commitment to contributing to this field as a Co-Executive Director and Human Resources professional. Kari has served in a leadership capacity with MYEP since 2011. Kari’s department includes Human Resources, Fleet & Facilities, IT, and Administrative Support.

Outside of work, Kari finds joy being involved in the Iowa City community and the culture it offers. She adores her two dogs and enjoys spending time with them hiking. Kari also loves to cook and regularly entertains friends and family in her home.
